Her Story

Cherish Jackson was only 3 years old when her life was tragically taken on July 20, 2019, in Pensacola, Florida by her own father.

Witnesses said that shortly before the tragedy, Cherish saw her father arrive and ran toward his car excitedly. One neighbor later told WEAR-TV, “Cherish ran out to the car crying, ‘Daddy, Daddy.’ She was all happy to see him.”

What should have been a moment of joy between a child and her parent instead turned into a heartbreaking act of violence that shocked the community and left loved ones grieving the loss of a young life that had only just begun.

Cherish was only beginning her life. She deserved safety, love, and the chance to grow up. Instead, her story is remembered here so that her life will never be forgotten.
