Police began investigating Regina’s death as a homicide after she was found seriously injured inside her home. Authorities later sought to question her boyfriend in connection with the case, and a murder warrant was eventually issued as the investigation continued.Investigators said Regina had been assaulted before her death, and police believed there had been previous incidents that may have placed her in danger. According to investigators, she had earlier sought help but that help did not come in time.
