His Story

Jaedyn Khadim Marcell Wright was just 20 years old when his life was tragically taken on October 17, 2020, in Indiana, Pennsylvania. His death came far too soon, leaving family, friends, and loved ones to grieve a future that was never given the chance to unfold.

Jaedyn was a student at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), where he was studying communications media with a focus on media production. Those who knew him described him as a young man with goals, dreams, and a bright future ahead of him.

In the early morning hours of October 17, Jaedyn was fatally shot near the Carriage House Apartments close to the IUP campus. Investigators later determined that the shooting occurred during a robbery attempt involving several individuals.

Jaedyn’s life mattered far beyond the circumstances that ended it. He was a son, a grandson, a brother, and a friend to many. Those who loved him remember his presence, his spirit, and the impact he had on the people around him.

Though his life was taken far too soon, Jaedyn’s memory continues to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
