Naytel Pack
Age: 17 • July 17, 2014 • Pittsburgh, PennsylvaniaHis Story
Naytel “Booda” Pack was only 17 when his life was stolen. On the evening of July 17, 2014, he was shot multiple times at Nelson Mandela Peace Park in the Garfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh and passed away on the way to the hospital.
Police and prosecutors later said Naytel was targeted because he had witnessed a previous shooting and was expected to testify against one of the men involved.
Naytel should have been protected for doing the right thing. Instead,
his family, friends, and community are left grieving a brave teen whose voice
was silenced for telling the truth.
Naytel’s laugh and smile will never be forgotten. Those who knew him remember the joy he
brought into a room and the kindness he showed to others. Though his life was cut short,
the impact he made on the people who loved him will continue to live on.
