Avery Vernie "Peaches" Shorts was only 6 years old when her life was stolen.
Avery went missing on December 26, 1980 from Montgomery Village Housing Apt# 243 in South Knoxville; her body was found on January 23, 1982 off Singleton Station Road in Blount County buried under a cattle chute with a wire wrapped around her neck.
